Herstory

Sydni’s journey as a professional smokeshow began young, falling in love with the pinups in Playboy magazine, the iconic work of Irving Klaw and beyond. As a girl she dreamed of a rockstar….and later she found the glorious photographs of burlesque queens of past and Something Weird Videos that featured these beautiful women in their glory.

She has always been creative and artistic, choosing to spend most of her free time as an adolescent writing, drawing, making jewelry, designing clothes and entertaining the idea of being a professional musician- studying flute for over a decade and singing jazz and blues in various groups and solo- well into her adulthood.

Sydni began modeling in 2000 by securing a contract with Heffner Management in Seattle (commercial modeling) but felt much more at home showing much more skin, and became a Suicide Girl in the early 2000’s. Sydni has a recognizable yet versatile face that can tout both minimalist and glamorous looks, it’s no surprise that Sydni has often been photographed for burlesque, boudoir and editorial looks.

Sydni’s burlesque career began in 2005 in Seattle, Washington- beginning with a troupe, Burning Hearts Burlesque, then moving onto Sinner Saint Burlesque and finally going her own way as a solo entertainer in 2008. Her charming performance style is an entertaining mix of charm, finesse and sophisticated musicality. Specializing in rock n roll, Sydni uses her beautiful alluring features, and her very leggy 6'2" frame to hypnotize her audiences all over the world as a headliner and emcee.

She began producing in 2009, and in 2010 was the producer of Seattle’s (still) iconic Burlesque Behind the Pink Door. Once she moved to NYC in 2014 she produced many various showcases and regular shows with a production team called Wasabassco- including shows at Le Poisson Rouge, House of Yes and Bathtub Gin.

In 2013 Sydni Deveraux “The Golden Glamazon” was recognized worldwide with the award of 1st Runner Up for Queen at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend which supports the Exotic World Museum in preserving the history and legacy of burlesque. In 2017 she took another trophy home for 2nd runner up to queen. She has been ranked in the top 50 burlesque performers of 2011 through 2017 as polled by the popular online magazine- 21st Century Burlesque. Having performed and taught internationally and nationally in multiple festivals and shows from her hometown of Seattle all the way to places such as Toronto, Vancouver, Finland, Paris, Amsterdam and Switzerland- her talents have been featured in acclaimed shows that showcase the brightest and most recognized talents in the world. From 2014-2019 she spent her time producing showcases for Wasabassco (retired company) and performing full-time in NYC.

Sydni now resides in the Bay Area, teaching burlesque at Flux Vertical Theatre in Berkeley, CA, occasionally creating fantasy pinup and video content for her various premium sites, and is also in ongoing school to further her practice as a professional astrologer during the day hours. She still performs locally and nationally, in a very selective manner. With Butch Charming, she has 2:31 Productions- producing and supporting events in the Bay Area and nationally.
